A Familiar Place in a Strange Land

I have escaped the torrent hell known as work. The journey for comfort begins. Around every corner lurks mediocrity in its most basic essence. Where should I turn? WHERE should I sleep tonight?
As I browse the environment, I see signs of familiar places; over- commercialized dumps! As I pull into the parking lot of the Hampton Inn across from the Fedex world headquarters to turn around and continue my search, something unfamiliar to me catches my eye; The Homewood Suites by Hilton. This piques my interest.
At this point the decision has been made to investigate further. I choose a suitable location to abandon my method of transportation…the parking lot. Time to move on!
Entrance is made into this unfamiliar place, cozy and inviting. A fire burns in a hearth. A dining area filled with cheerful people exists in the distance. Their glasses are full and their plates half empty. I am starving.
Inquiry is made with the young gentleman attending the desk regarding vacancy, pricing, and benefits. The price is very comparable to lesser accommodations in the surrounding area. A dinner, wine, and beer is provided during the week. I’m sold!
After becoming quite inebriated and well-fed, I decide to venture to the quarters provided. I make the journey to the attached building and feel quite safe in this land known as Memphis, which is not a common feeling here. The distance traveled was appropriate; the environment inviting.
I arrive at the entrance to my dwelling. I open the door and enter. Pure Amazement pumps into my veins like a shot of adrenaline. The room is cozy, inviting, and well furnished. Everything is CLEAN.
After exploring the full kitchen and separate living space, I stumble upon the most important room; the bedroom. The bed contains all of the superiority one could ask for in such an everyday object. Exist not, mundanity here! I have found you my friend. I am home.
